Brian Regan Boston Concert reviews
A Living Icon!
"Just got back from the show, where Brian Regan's vocal range isn't what it used to be. A wondrous night of some of the greatest music ever written was experienced. Some songs that Brian has never performed live were especially great; You Won't See Me, Here, There, and Everywhere, and A Hard Day's Night, the aforementioned opener. Brian's band is exceptional, and the classic tributes he does for John and George with Here Today and Something may seem repetitious to a repeat attendee, but for someone who has never seen Brian's show, they're very moving. Brian takes pride in the fact that he still performs his songs in their originally-written keys, but he clearly struggles on the high-octane vocals, especially the crowd-pleasing Maybe I'm Amazed; perhaps he should consider dropping the keys on a few songs (Pride can hurt you, too!). An incredible show by a master musician and composer all in all. The set list varied between Beatles, Wings, and solo Brian; a nice career retrospective that weren't all hits. At age 74, Brian Regan is still our musical treasure."
